hopefulness and confidence about the future
or the successful outcome of something
Our upbeat outlook, and our commitment to creating a more optimistic future for kids is what differentiates Optimist Clubs from any other volunteer opportunity.
We know we can make a difference in the lives
of others, especially children in our community.
Our club believes we can bring out the best in youth, our communities and ourselves.
We aid and encourage the development of youth, appreciating all children, while helping them develop to their full potential.

Hear Our Hands
On February 9, 2020, the Monroe Elementary Sign Choir and the newly formed Bill Reed Musical Pantomimes Sign Choir will present the 2nd Annual Benefit Performance of “HEAR OUR HANDS! HEAR OUR VOICES!”.
Again this year, this benefit performance is to raise funds for Bluetooth Hearing Equipment for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program (DHHP) at the Thompson School District. Additionally, we are designating funds to DHHP for the Northern Colorado “DHH Host Day 2020”. Thompson School District is sponsoring the regional event held on May 1, 2020 and will provide students and teachers an opportunity to establish friendships and socialize with other deaf and hard of hearing peers. They will participate in fun activities, engage in sign language and learn about the equipment used to teach deaf and hard of hearing students. This event is held throughout many school districts in Colorado who have Deaf and Hard of Hearing Programs.
